Sweden's Simon Forsström insisted "the game's feeling good" after he built on his strong start to the 2023 campaign with another fine performance in the opening round of the 2023 Singapore Classic.
Having earned his DP World Tour card with a two-stroke victory at the Final Stage of Qualifying School in November, the 33-year-old hit the ground running with top-ten finishes at the Joburg Open and AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open before Christmas.
And he shone again on Thursday at Laguna National Golf Resort Club, carding eight birdies and one bogey in his first-round 65 to sit one shot behind first-round leader Tom McKibbin in a tie for second.
Forsström said: "It’s a great start. I played good. Started with two good saves for par and I kept playing well after that.
"I think I put it on the right spots most of the time, so the putts weren’t that tricky.
"You want a good start. I feel like the game's feeling good - it didn't feel so good last week but now it's feeling better. It’s nice.
"It's always an advantage to be in the first groups of the day, so I’m going to do as best as I can tomorrow."
