Home favourite Marcel Siem will take on Adrian Otaegui in the final of the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play after both men claimed convincing wins on Sunday morning at Golf Resort Bad Griesbach.
Siem was a 3 and 2 winner over Swede Johan Carlsson while Otaegui won 6 and 5 against fellow Spaniard Alejandro Cañizares.
Siem is a four-time winner on the European Tour but currently sits 125th in the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex and is looking to become just the third German to win on home soil after Bernhard Langer and Martin Kaymer.
Otaegui, meanwhile, arrived at the Beckenbauer Course off the back of four straight top-20 finishes as he seeks a first victory on the European Tour.
It was an early start for a Sunday but that was no problem for Siem as he flew out of the blocks, birdieing the first and second.
Carlsson hit back on the par five next before the fourth was halved in pars but another Siem birdie on the fifth restored his cushion.
The sixth and seventh were then halved in par but Carlsson has played the par fives well all week and he made another birdie on the eighth to cut the gap before Siem won the ninth with a birdie.
The tenth was then halved but when Carlsson failed to get up and down on the 11th to surrender a bogey, Siem was in total control.
He tightened his grip with another birdie after a stunning approach to the 13th but he missed the green on the 14th to give Carlsson a glimmer of hope.
The 15th was halved and when Carlsson drove the par four 16th to within six feet he must have thought he still had a chance but Siem got inside him to halve the hole in eagles and win the match.
"Just winning 3 and 2 says that Johan played quite well as well," said Siem. "I was four up and all of a sudden the pressure was on when he made that birdie.
"I played beautifully. I have to work on the par fives in the final, I made three pars on the par fives and that could be dangerous in the final.
"I slept so well last night, I was so tired, I woke up so fresh this morning, I was surprised.
"I'm really looking forward to the final on home soil. It means a lot to me. I've never won on German soil and it would mean a lot to me to win here. It’s like a new day. It’s a lot of pressure but hopefully my experience to go through it four times might help a little bit."
Otaegui made a quick start with birdies on the second and third as the first, fourth and fifth were halved.
A bogey from the 2015 Qualifying School winner on the sixth handed Cañizares a hole back but Otaegui birdied the par three seventh and par five eighth to move three up.
A stunning approach to the 11th then set up another Otaegui birdie and a lengthy putt handed him another gain on the 12th and a five-hole lead.
Cañizares then bogeyed the 13th and it was all over, with Otaegui six under for 13 holes.
"It was a very good match, I started well from the beginning," said Otaegui. "I was pretty solid.
"The secret is just put the ball in the fairway then close to the pin and then try to hole the putt. There's no secret.
"The greens are soft so you can attack the pins and my game is in good shape as well."
