Sibling support comes naturally to the Paul twins. Despite their professional golf journeys taking them in different directions, they continue to be there for each other.
We got the latest reminder of this after DP World Tour winner Yannik credited his US-based brother Jeremy for some wise words of encouragement following his first-round 67 at this week’s Ras Al Khaimah Championship.
After a top-10 finish at the Dubai Invitational was followed by a missed cut at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Yannik felt his driving wasn’t where it should be and turned for support.
"This morning on the range I wasn’t hitting it super well," he said.
"I texted my brother because he just got back to Arizona and it’s a 12-hour time difference.
"I asked him for a quick tip, he texted me right back and it got much better after that – so that was nice."
Whatever the 'tip' was it certainly proved beneficial as he recorded six birdies over the opening day at Al Hamra Golf Club.
Yet, with a few missed fairways along the way, Yannik knows there is still room for improvement as he looks to become a multiple winner on Tour.
I asked him for a quick tip, he texted me right back and it got much better after that – so that was nice.
"The driving is getting much better which is nice to see," he added.
"That was one of my goals for this year - to drive it better.
"I am a good driver but you can always improve obviously."
And with Jeremy coming off his first victory on the Korn Ferry Tour at the weekend, how could he not use some of that positivity.
"He has positives vibes at the moment after his win," Yannik said.
Now, with some confidence in his play off the tee restored, Yannik will hope to emulate his brother in landing more silverware for the Paul family.
