Shane Lowry ready to 'take on the wind' in Scotland

Shane Lowry believes he will have to "take on the wind" if he is to claim a third Rolex Series title at the Genesis Scottish Open on Sunday.

The 2019 Champion Golfer of the Year is a renowned links player but admitted he was rusty on British Isles coastline golf as he carded a disappointing opening 71 at The Renaissance Club.

He has clearly got back into his rhythm, however, with subsequent rounds of 64 and 65 moving him to ten under in North Berwick.

Day four is expected to bring the toughest conditions of the week and Lowry is ready to use all his experience on this terrain as he seeks DP World Tour title number seven.

"It's obviously a different form of golf and different to what a lot of people are used to," he said.

"Living over in the States, it even takes like me like a while to get back playing here. And I felt Thursday I was a bit rusty with it all and I hit some really weird shots that I would never hit in a links tournament.

"So I'm playing my way nicely into the week. I had two nice rounds the last two rounds and I'm in a nice position going into tomorrow. We have got some strong winds tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

"I'd love to go out and give myself a chance to win this tournament. It's obviously a huge tournament for us in Europe and one that I would love to add my name to.

"Just go out and take on the wind and see what happens and try and shoot the best score I can."
