The Championship visits Walton Heath Golf Club for the first time from July 21-24, 30 years after the Surrey venue hosted the first Ryder Cup contested by a combined European Team – rather than Great Britain and Ireland – and the United States.

Several of the game’s great names who played in that contest are expected to return for The Senior Open Championship, including Major Champions Sir Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle and Tom Watson, as well as Bernhard Langer who will defend the prestigious title he won at Carnoustie.

Admission prices have been frozen for 2011, with advance tickets now available at £60 for a season pass and any one day passes at £16.50. These tickets will be £70 and £25 respectively if purchased on the gate.

Tickets can be booked online atwww.europeantourtickets.com, where a pre-Christmas purchase offer can also be found.

In addition to The Ryder Cup, Walton Heath has also hosted the European Open five times and has been the US Open Championship European Qualifying venue since 2005.

Tom Kite, another member of the 1981 United States Team expected to be part of the field, won the European Open at Walton Heath in 1980, as did Senior Tour Members Andrew Murray (1989) and Mike Harwood (1991), who was crowned the 2009 Senior Tour Rookie of the Year.

The Senior Open Championship is co-owned by the European Senior Tour and The R&A and returns to the south of England after Sunningdale hosted the 2009 edition, won by Loren Roberts.
