Season stats reflect cosmopolitan Challenge Tour

With the 2013 Challenge Tour schedule having passed the midway point, the season statistics and records thus far reflect its increasingly cosmopolitan nature, with an American, a Norwegian and an Italian among the record-holders in 2013.

Brooks Koepka of the USA unsurprisingly dominates the list of achievements this year having already graduated to The European Tour after three victories in two months.

Those wins came in spectacular fashion, his second victory setting a new Challenge Tour record for the largest winning margin as he romped to a ten-shot win at the Fred Olsen Challenge de España, having already recorded a seven-shot victory at the  Montecchia Golf Open presented by POLAROID in May.

Among his other records for 2013 are the lowest 18-hole score to par with a ten under 62 at the D+D Real Czech Challenge Open, and the most top ten finishes, with seven in nine appearances.

Knut Borsheim of Norway joined the record list for 2013 last week thanks to his incredible eight under par 28 front nine at the Mugello Tuscany Open, which also helped him to the lowest opening 36-hole score to par this season when he led the field going into the weekend on 15 under.

Italian Marco Crespi went on to win that tournament, leapfrogging Borsheim on the final day and setting some records of his own by making up the biggest deficit over the final 36 holes by a winner (nine shots), while also making up the biggest deficit by a winner in the final round, coming from four shots back on Sunday to seal a second Challenge Tour victory.
