Jason Scrivener continued his excellent start to the 2019 season as he set the clubhouse target on day two of the ISPS Handa Vic Open.
The Australian has three top tens from four starts so far and he stayed bogey-free at 13th Beach Golf Club with a second-round 66 that moved him to 14 under.
That left him two shots ahead of countryman Matt Jager and three clear of Scotland's David Law.
Grant Forrest, Matthew Griffin, Michael Hoey and Anton Karlsson were the in the clubhouse at ten under.
This week's event is played over the Beach and the Creek courses in Geelong, with men and women from four tours playing over the same layouts in separate tournaments for equal prize money.
Scrivener made a birdie-birdie start on the Beach to catch overnight leader Nick Flanagan and Jager soon joined him with birdies on the second, sixth, seventh and eighth.
A Jager eagle on the tenth put the 2010 Australian Amateur champion into a two-shot lead but he bogeyed the next and a Scrivener birdie on the 15th meant the lead was shared again.
Jager birdied the 13th to hit the front before Hoey - also playing the Creek - made a big move thanks to an incredible run of scoring around the turn.
The Northern Irishman had made a bogey-bogey start but he birdied the fifth and sixth, eagled the seventh and then made further gains on the eighth and ninth to turn in 32.
Birdies on the tenth and 12th meant he had picked up eight shots in as many holes but Jager made another gain on the 14th and Scrivener added a birdie on the 18th.
Scrivener birdied on the second before Hoey ended his round as he had started it - with two bogeys.
A bogey on the last from Jager left the door open for Scrivener and the 29 year old moved two ahead with a birdie on the seventh.
Challenge Tour graduate Law turned in 33 with birdies on the tenth, 13th and 17th and then produced a big finish with gains on the fifth, seventh and ninth to stay bogey-free for the week.
Fellow Scotsman and Challenge Tour graduate Forrest made birdies on the second, seventh, tenth, 12th and 17th, with bogeys on the sixth and 13th.
Swede Karlsson turned in 36 with a birdie on the second and a bogey on the ninth but the Qualifying School graduate then picked up shots on the tenth, 12th and 15th.
Griffin made five birdies and two bogeys in a 69, with Flanagan and Wade Ormsby also at ten under in the early stages of their rounds.
Ashley Chesters, David Drysdale and Paul Dunne were at nine under alongside Australian amateur David Micheluzzi.
