Scott continues climb

Adam Scott moved into a share of the lead with compatriot Richard Green as The Barclays Scottish Open resumed at Loch Lomond.

Barclays Scottish Open - First Round

The 28 year old Australian birdied the 415 yard 12th to improve to six under par at the start of his second round and joined overnight leader Green - who was amongst the late starters - on seven under with another birdie at the long par four 16th.

And Marcus Fraser made it a trio of Australians at the head of the field with four birdies through his first ten holes to also reach seven under.

Ireland’s Paul McGinley went on something of a rollercoaster ride in his round. He bogeyed the short fifth, got back in the joint lead with a birdie on the next, but then dropped another stroke at the seventh.

Darren Clarke, playing with Scott, climbed to five under thanks to three birdies in a row as well - in his case from the 11th - while Ernie Els and fellow South African Retief Goosen both moved to four under.

Last week’s winner Martin Kaymer and yet another Australian - Rod Pampling - were also on the move as they advanced to six under on an increasingly congested leaderboard.

Three players on six under were yet to tee off their second round - Spain's Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, England’s Graeme Storm and Scotland’s Martin Laird.
