As we look ahead to a new European Challenge Tour season, and a new crop of up and coming talent, we profile one of the Nordic Golf League’s most exciting young players, Oliver Lindell.
Since winning as an amateur on the Nordic Golf League in the summer of 2015, the Finn has forged a reputation as one of his country’s most promising talents, finishing 2016 as his nation’s fourth-highest ranked player in the Official World Golf Ranking.
After joining the paid ranks in December 2015, aged just 17, Lindell adapted swiftly to life as a professional, securing a top five finish in the Nordea Tour Winter Series Lumine Hills Open – his first start of the 2016 season.
Following his promising start, the 18 year old showed maturity beyond his years to consistently finish high up the leaderboard, claiming two wins, two runner-up finishes and four further top fives to lead the Nordic Golf League Rankings with one tournament to play.

Despite eventually being pipped to the top of the Order of Merit by the experienced Mark Haastrup, Lindell was crowned the Ecco Tour’s Rookie of The Year and Player of the Year – and did not miss a cut after 17 events on one of Europe’s four satellite tours.
Now with a card for Europe’s top developmental tour, Lindell will be full of confidence having already achieved success on the European Tour – he finished tied 26th at the 2016 Made In Denmark.
