Sam Horsfield has regained the top spot in the mini Order of Merit following his second European Tour victory at the Celtic Classic - the fourth event of the UK Swing.

Horsfield, who earned his first Tour title at the Hero Open, closed out a bogey free 67 at Celtic Manor Resort to become the first player in European Tour history to win, miss the cut, then win again in three successive weeks.

The 23 year old Englishman now has a commanding lead at the top of the standings with 705.80 points, 255.28 clear of Thomas Detry, who has finished as the runner-up to Horsfield during both of his wins.

Andy Sullivan, who won the English Championship, sits closely behind Detry on 440.86 points, and is followed by 19 year old Rasmus Højgaard, who became the only player to record consecutive top 10s in the first three weeks of the UK Swing.

Behind Højgaard is Betfred British Masters champion Renato Paratore, followed by Adrian Oteagui, Justin Harding and Alexander Bjork. Connor Syme and Andrew Johnston both made big moves after finishing in a tie for third place in Wales, with the Scotsman moving in to ninth position, while Johnston has joined Chris Paisley in tenth.

With just two events left in the UK Swing the competition is set to intensify as players look to take advantage of their chance to qualify for the U.S. Open. The USGA have confirmed that the top 10 aggregate points earners in the mini Order of Merit that are not otherwise exempt at the conclusion of the fifth event – the Wales Open at Celtic Manor - will be exempt for the rescheduled U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club on September 17-20.

As part of the new Golf for Good initiative, which underpins all events for the remainder of the 2020 season, the mini Order of Merit will conclude after the sixth event in the UK Swing - the UK Championship - with the top ten sharing an additional £250,000 to donate to charities of their choice.
