We take a look in Ryggs Johnston’s bag for his victory at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open.
The American, who is named after Mel Gibson’s character in Lethal Weapon, was making just his second DP World Tour start since coming through all three stages of Qualifying School.
Johnston, ranked World Number 954 going into the week, made light of no pre-tournament practice round to become the 11th American winner of the Stonehaven Trophy.
The 24-year-old plays a full bag of TaylorMade equipment, with the only exception being his Titleist ball.
Unsurprisingly, he made no change to his club set-up from his DP World Tour debut at the BMW Australian Open, again carrying driver, three-wood, five wood, 4-9 iron, 48-60 degree wedges and putter.
Johnston uses the same driver – the TaylorMade, Qi10 – as many of the world’s best, including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, while he also has the same putter as the four-time Major winner from Northern Ireland.
