Ryder Cup stars confirmed as BMW PGA Championship Saturday tickets sell out

Victorious Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald will be joined by Nicolai Højgaard, Robert MacIntyre, and Sepp Straka as the latest Team Europe stars confirmed in the BMW PGA Championship field, coinciding with the news that Saturday Ticket+ and General Admission tickets for the Rolex Series event are now sold out.

The quartet are the latest to be announced alongside defending champion Ryan Fox and their Ryder Cup teammates Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Shane Lowry and Justin Rose, at the iconic Wentworth Club from September 17-22, with the remaining general admission tickets for Sunday selling fast. Tickets and premium experiences are available here.

Former World Number One Donald returns to the famous Surrey venue for his 18th appearance at the BMW PGA Championship having won the prestigious tournament in back-to-back years in 2011 and 2012.

The seven-time DP World Tour winner etched his name into European golfing folklore last year when he led Team Europe to a memorable Ryder Cup victory at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.

His success and widespread popularity saw the 46-year-old Englishman sworn in for a second term as Ryder Cup Captain earlier this year and work is already under way as he bids to join Tony Jacklin as only the second Captain to lead Europe to victories both home and away.

"The BMW PGA Championship holds a special place in my heart," said Donald. "Winning in 2011 and 2012 is something I will never forget. Playing in front of the passionate English fans, with their incredible support and the electrifying atmosphere at Wentworth, is an experience like no other."

MacIntyre will make his sixth appearance at the BMW PGA Championship, and will do so following a sensational few months. A one stroke victory at the 2024 RBC Canadian Open saw him earn a maiden title on the PGA TOUR before he followed that up with an emotional win in his home open earlier this month, becoming the first Scot to do so since Colin Montgomerie in 1999.

Højgaard will tee it up at Wentworth Club following a stellar 12 months on the DP World Tour which included eight top ten finishes and a first Rolex Series title at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. The 23-year-old Dane, who impressed with a tied 16th finish in his Masters debut in April, returns for a fourth appearance in the BMW PGA Championship.

Straka enjoyed a breakout 2023, where alongside Ryder Cup success, he recorded a tied seventh finish in the US PGA Championship and a tied second in The 151st Open. The Austrian will be looking to build on the tenth place finish he secured in his BMW PGA Championship debut last September.

The BMW PGA Championship Festival of Golf takes place just outside central London, attracting more than 100,000 spectators each year, with the world class action inside the ropes set to be complemented by live entertainment on the Showstage, and an unrivalled atmosphere in the vibrant Spectator Village.

The G4D TOUR @ BMW PGA Championship will take place at the start of the week, with some of the best golfers with a disability competing for the penultimate G4D Tour title on the iconic West Course on Monday September 16 and Tuesday September 17.

That is followed by the star-studded Wednesday Celebrity Pro-Am which will see Hollywood actor Tom Holland and his brothers Harry and Sam alongside global celebrities and some of golf’s most famous players in a fun-filled curtain raiser to the main event, the BMW PGA Championship, which tees off on Thursday September 19.

“We are looking forward to welcoming so many fans to Wentworth Club for the BMW PGA Championship in September,” said Kit Gartrell, the DP World Tour’s Championship Director for the BMW PGA Championship.

“The tournament has certainly become a fixture in the British sporting calendar and the Festival of Golf atmosphere continues to grow, with the world class Rolex Series event complimented by global celebrities competing in the Celebrity Pro-Am. We also have an exciting line up of music acts on the Showstage to announce in the coming weeks, and of course some of the world’s best golfers with a disability competing in the G4D Tour’s G4D @ BMW PGA Championship to open the week.

“General Admission and Ticket+ options for Saturday are now sold out and we have limited availability for Sunday, so to avoid disappointment we would encourage fans to get their tickets now for the G4D @ BMW PGA Championship and practice day on Tuesday, the Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday and the first two rounds of BMW PGA Championship action on Thursday and Friday.”

The Rolex Series tournament assumes a key position on the DP World Tour’s 2024 Global Schedule as part of the ‘Back 9’, encompassing nine of the Tour’s most historic tournaments and national opens, running from August to October. It gives members their final opportunities to secure their playing rights for 2025 and also advance to the season-ending ‘DP World Tour Play-Offs’.

BMW group owners will once again receive preferred parking benefits, while park & ride and shuttle services from local train stations will be available free of charge to all spectators.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets now to avoid disappointment, with Ticket+ packages for Friday, Saturday and Sunday now sold out, and various Premium Experiences fast becoming limited. In 2023, Saturday and Sunday General Admission and all Ticket+ packages sold out ahead of the event, whilst Premium Experiences sold out on all days.

The Approach by James Tanner – new in 2024 – offers a flexible and informal Premium Experience with dishes from the British Chef. Whilst spectators can also view the action with Green on 18, enjoy refined dining in the Wentworth Clubhouse with The Ballroom, or be at the heart of the festival atmosphere with the Champions Club in the fan village.
