Ryder Cup: Interactive game PINPOINT brings fans closer to the action

Ryder Cup Game Zone is delighted to announce the launch of PINPOINT, an interactive game allowing fans to make predictions on who they think will hit the longest drive and be nearest the pin at this week’s Ryder Cup.

Fans will have the chance to get closer to the action and experience the excitement at the 44th edition of golf’s greatest team contest at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club from the comfort of their own home.

The rules are simple, predict who you think will hit the longest drive on the par five ninth and who will be closest to the pin on the par three 13th each Ryder Cup session to be automatically entered into our prize draw to win exclusive prizes each day from Friday to Sunday this week.

Along with FANTASY, which allows fans the opportunity to pick their own team for each day and session of this year's content, PINPOINT forms part of the 2023 Ryder Cup Game Zone.

Making Picks

Throughout the first two days of the Ryder Cup 2023, two formats are played.

Morning Match Play sessions of Foursomes
Afternoon Match Play sessions of Fourballs

On the final day, all players participate in Singles Match Play.

For each of the five sessions of the tournament there will be a nominated Par 5 hole chosen for Longest Drive and a Par 3 hole chosen for Nearest The Pin.

Pick one golfer (or a pairing) from each of the five sessions who you think will hit the longest drive and land nearest the pin from their tee shot. You will also need to select what distance band you think they will fall in with their tee shot.

The Longest Drive prediction will be considered valid if the tee shot finishes on the fairway (or the green). For Nearest The Pin, the prediction will be considered valid if the tee shot lands on the green.

To submit your prediction you need to predict both Longest Drive and Nearest The Pin, you cannot submit the two predictions individually.

Nominated Holes

The nominated Holes for each of the five sessions will be:

Longest Drive:
Hole: 9
Par: 5
Yards: 587
Nearest The Pin:
Hole: 13
Par: 3
Yards: 150

Deadline

The predictor will lock when the first group of the active session complete Hole 8. After this time the session in question will lock and it will not be possible to submit a prediction. Don’t worry if you missed it, you can still enter your predictions for the remaining sessions and enter in the prize draw!

Results

There won’t be any points scoring for this game, but you will be able to see the result of your predictions along with the correct result of each session. After the session is completed, check your prediction cards. You’ll see a green tick if your prediction is correct and a red cross if the prediction is wrong.
