Eduard Rousaud took another step forward in his fledgling career as he made his first cut on the European Tour at the 2021 Tenerife Open.
The Spaniard rose to World Number Two in the amateur ranks and was still unpaid as he missed out on the weekend at last season's Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters and U.S. Open before recording top five finishes in his first two European Challenge Tour events.
He turned professional in March after two missed cuts on the Desert Swing and last week's professional debut on Tour at the Gran Canaria Lopesan Open saw him fail to add to his bank balance at the first attempt.
A 64 on day one at Golf Costa Adeje virtually assured he would be teeing it up on Saturday and after he followed that with a bogey free 66, the 20-year-old was just four shots off the lead.
"I’m very pleased, I’ve been playing really good," he said.
"I don't care - I just want to enjoy, play golf."

"The last month has been difficult for me because I have just turned pro and I didn’t play as good as I would like but I’m just trying to keep my head up.
"I’ve worked hard the last two or three years so I know I can be here. It’s maybe a matter of time, a matter of attitude. I’ve been working on my attitude the last three or four days. My caddie has been doing incredible work, so I’m very pleased with the first two rounds.
"Honestly, I’m not thinking about that (the prospect of winning). I just want to keep improving my attitude, keep improving my game, keep learning.
"These guys here they play really, really good. I know I can be here but I’m not sure if yet, right now, but there’s no rush on that. So I will try to enjoy it, to keep learning, to grow as a player."
