Sam Torrance began the last day one ahead of Costantino Rocca and Ronan Rafferty. He had birdies at the third, fourth and sixth to turn in 33 and, as Rocca and Rafferty retreated, so Jose Rivero, out in 34, challenged with birdies at the 11th, 15th and 16th. Torrance, however, responded in fine style with three birdies in the last four holes to stay ahead as Rivero finished with another birdie.
