Bernhard Langer became only the eight player in European Tour history to compile a 60 when with 11 birdies and one eagle in the third round he spreadeagled the field. Langer, out in 31 and home in 29, said: "That was as good as I have ever played. I've never shot 12 under par in competition before so I had to be more than satisfied." For Langer it was a 38th European Tour win, his tenth in his native Germany and his 51st world-wide.
