Frank Nobilo crammed eight birdies and an eagle into a best-of-the-tournament last round 64 for victory. He trailed pace setters Darren Clarke and Miguel Angel Martin by two, and Colin Montgomerie by one, but charged from the start - picking up five shots in the first six holes. Montgomerie drew level with birdies at the seventh and tenth and went ahead when Nobilo bogeyed the 12th. Nobilo was tied again before he made a birdie at the 16th as Montgomerie bogeyed the 14th - a two shot swing that proved decisive.
