Wayne Riley was put under severe pressure by Englishman Mark Davis and Martin Gates in the last round with both players getting to within a stroke of Riley's lead at various stages. The Australian held a two-stroke advantage after 54 holes but Gates closed the gap to just one by the eighth. Riley countered with a magnificent eagle three at the 507 yard ninth, then Davis made his run with four birdies and an eagle to reach the 18th only one behind. Davis, however, bunkered his second whereas Riley, after a birdie at the tenth, parred home.
