Miguel Angel Martin produced a performance of great courage to win the biggest prize cheque of his career, £107,546, following a thrilling fourth round duel with Fred Couples. The Spaniard needed a birdie at the par five last hole to win and after bunkering his second shot he holed from eight feet to take the title by one stroke from Couples. "When I nearly lost my card two years ago, I thought this game was for the big guys," said 5ft 6in tall Martin. "Well, it's all in the mind."
