Rose monster putt wins November Shot of the Month award

Justin Rose became the only man in 2012 to win multiple Shot of the Month awards after he picked up the November prize as voted for by fans of My European Tour.

The victorious shot, which took 75 per cent of the vote, came during the final round of the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, where Rose put together one of the rounds of the season en route to a second place finish behind World Number One Rory McIlroy.

Faced with a treacherous 100 foot putt from the back of the 18th green, Rose showed the touch of a surgeon as he caressed the ball up to a virtual standstill atop the ridge between him and the hole, and with the crowds cheering and willing it on the ball tip toed over the crest of the slope before rolling down adjacent to the hole.

"I knew it was hero or zero there," said the Englishman. "I was one roll away from looking like an idiot.

"I actually got goosebumps. I thought it was going to go in for a second."

The tap in from just inches away saw Rose sign for a course record round of 62 at the Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth Course, but he would still come up a couple short of the title thanks to McIlroy’s five-birdie finish that saw him storm to victory.

Rose’s putt follows on from another fine showing on the greens, his putt at Medinah’s 17th during the Sunday singles at The Ryder Cup, which also earned him the Shot of the Month prize for September.

All 11 winning shots from for the 2012 season - Sergio Garcia (January), Kaymer (February), Paul Casey (March), Louis Oosthuizen (April), Luke Donald (May), Padraig Harrington (June), Ian Poulter (July) and Richie Ramsay (August), Rose (September and November) and Shane Lowry (October) will now go forward to one final competition where you will decide which was the European Tour Shot of the Year.

Details of this competition will follow shortly, so make sure you stay tuned to europeantour.com and get ready with your choice to be eligible for our fantastic end of season prize.
