Cameron Adam and Antoine Rozner both fired course records on day two of the Danish Golf Championship to share the lead heading into the weekend at Great Northern.
Frenchman Félix Mory had set the mark with a 65 on in round one but countryman Rozner bettered that on Friday with a 64 to set the target at 11 under.
It looked for a long time like the three-time DP World Tour winner would lead alone after 36 holes but Scot Adam had other ideas, birdieing the treacherous last to lower the mark once again with a 63 and join him at the summit.
Another Scot in Ewen Ferguson was one back after a 65, a shot clear of Julian Perico, who became the first Peruvian to make the cut in a DP World Tour event, England's Matthew Jordan, Frenchman Romain Langasque, South African Brandon Stone and American Caleb Surratt.
Adam earned his place on Tour through last year's Global Amateur Pathway Rankings but has registered just one top ten in Kenya so far to sit 125th on the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World.
With his starts likely to be limited on the Back 9, he needs to rack up some precious points this week and on home soil at the Nexo Championship and he is certainly going the right way about it, carding nine unanswered birdies in a round that will win him $US30,000 courtesy of Nexo should it not be lowered by Sunday.
"It's the best round of my professional career so far," he said. "I've just got to build off it and go and have a strong weekend.
"I'm excited. It's going to be different and a first experience for me on tour but I've got to embarce it and go and see what happens."
The 23-year-old hit a smart approach into the second for a first birdie of the day and then took his chances at the driveable par-four fourth and par-five fifth and ninth to turn in 32.
Stellar iron play brought birdies from inside 15 feet at the tenth, 12th and 13th and when he holed a 25-footer on the 14th, he was within one.
A poor tee-shot at the driveable 16th and a three-putt at the par-five 17th halted his momentum but he then hit a brilliant tee-shot over the water to six feet on the par-three last to hit the top.
Rozner's 64 was his lowest round of a season that has seen him claim three top tens but miss his last two cuts.
"I just played good golf and holed a lot of putts as well," he said.
"I think I took really good advantage of the low wind early on in the day and just played very good.
"I think you have a key tee shot out there on the course. It takes a good mental focus out there to stay in those shots because it can be very impressive sometimes with all those water hazards around the fairway. So I think if you stay very focused you can put out a good score like that.
"A great round of golf, I'm super happy, hopefully two more good days."
Starting on the tenth, Rozner made the most of the par-five 11th, played an excellent approach into the 14th and holed a lengthy putt on the next before a poor tee-shot saw him surrender a bogey at the 16th.
He bounced back with a two-putt gain on the 17th, a brilliant tee-shot into the 18th and a stunning pitch at the first before capitalising on the fifth and hitting excellent irons into the sixth and eighth.
Ferguson was bogey-free in his round, a feat also achieved by Langasque who carded a 66.
Perico and Surratt also went round in 66, with Jordan carding a 67, two shots fewer than Stone.
Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson and Chinese teenager Yanhan Zhou were then at eight under, a shot clear of former champion and local hero Rasmus Højgaard, Italian Filippo Celli, England's Todd Clements and German Freddy Schott.
