Reavie, who hails from Kansas, putted for an eagle and nine birdies throughout a stunning round that also saw him drop two shots.

He heads up the leaderboard on 14 under, with the two Steves, Marino and Striker, two shots further back.

First-day leader Kris Blanks went round in an even 71 to drop out of the reckoning slightly, while Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas, Zimbabwean Brendon de Jonge and American duo Kyle Stanley and Mark Wilson are in a four-way battle for third on ten under.

Nine players are on nine under par, including India`s Arjun Atwal and Australian pair Cameron Percy and Nathan Green.

Blanks is then one of eight players to follow on an eight under total of 134, with Davis Love III another of them.

"The putter's been great, that's been the key," Reavie said of his round afterwards..

"I saved some poor shots and made good par shots and hit some good shots and made birdies. So it's always fun when you do that."

Having recently returned from knee surgery, Reavie is delighted to be at the business end of a tournament so quickly.

"It's been a little bit of a roller coaster (since his return)," he added.

"I finally kind of figured out how I need to think. At first I was kind of counting my starts and counting how much money, and I was so stressed about thinking about that I wasn't thinking about golf so much.

"So after about five or six tournaments at the beginning of the year I just said, to hell with this. I'm just going to go play and wherever I finish up, I finish up, and then I started playing better golf."
