• Born April 5th, 1976.
• Represented Sweden in the 1998 Eisenhower Trophy and was part of the Continental Europe Team that won the St Andrews Trophy the same year.
• Turned professional at the end of 1998.
• Attended the 1999 European Tour Qualifying School but failed to obtain a card.
• Won the Challenge Tour Rankings in his second season in 2000 with a then record of €108,711. He became the first player to with the Rankings with over €100,000.
• Won his first European Tour title in his rookie season in his only 16th European Tour event at the 2001 Benson and Hedges International Open, where he won in wire-to-wire fashion.
• Finished his rookie season on The European Tour in 44th place.
• Won his second European Tour title at The Heritage in 2004.
• Finished inside the top ten of the Order of Merit for the first time in 2005, where he finished eighth.
• Led the 2006 Ryder Cup World Points Table, leading to his Ryder Cup debut at The K Club. He had the honour of claiming the winning point, when beating Vaughn Taylor in the singles, 4 & 3. Recorded multiple victories on The European Tour for the first time in 2006, claiming the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and BMW International Open, on his way to sixth in the Order of Merit.
• Won twice again in 2007, firstly at the Dubai Desert Classic and the becoming the first Continental European to win a World Golf Championships event, at the WGC – Accenture Match Play Championship. Finished a career-high of fourth in the Order of Merit.
• Represented Europe for a second time in The Ryder Cup in 2008. Partnered Robert Karlsson to win the World Cup for Sweden in 2008.
• In 2009 became the second Continental European to win The Players Championship on the US PGA Tour, following Sergio Garcia, 12 months earlier.
• In 2011 fell out of the top 200 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
• Won the 2012 SA Open Championship. This was his first European Tour victory in over five years, to become the second Swede to win the Championship, following Mathias Grönberg in 2000.
• Wins two of the 2013 US PGA Tour FedEx Cup Series events, the Deutsche Bank Championship and the Tour Championship presented by Coca-Cola. He becomes the first European to win the FedEx Cup Series.
• Wins the 2013 DP World Tour Championship, Dubai and with it claims The Race to Dubai. He becomes the second Swede to finish the season as European Tour Number One, following Robert Karlsson in 2008. Since The European Tour’s first season in 1972, he becomes the fifth Continental European to finish in top spot, following Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, Robert Karlsson and Martin Kaymer. Become the first player in European Tour history to win the Challenge Tour Rankings (2000) and be crowned European Tour Number One, in 2013.
