It was a year which started with the aim of merely securing a full category on the European Challenge Tour for the 2019 season, but ended with Jack Singh Brar earning a dream graduation to the European Tour with a sixth place finish on the Road to Ras Al Khaimah.

The 22 year old began 2018 playing on the Alps Tour, but quickly turned his attention to the Challenge Tour after finishing tied second in the Turkish Airlines Challenge, his very first start on Europe’s top developmental circuit.

It was back down to earth with a slight bump in the road a week later at the Challenge de España, however the feeling of a missed cut was one he wouldn’t experience too often, missing out on playing the weekend just once more in 2018.

As he looked to secure his playing privileges for 2019, Singh Brar recording four more top tens before a life-changing win at the Cordon Golf Open.

The Southampton native was already inside the coveted top 15 on the Road to Ras Al Khaimah but the victory in France catapulted him into sixth place, which is where he stayed as he continued his good form down the home stretch of the season.

With the race for a top 15 spot intensifying, Singh Brar cemented his place in the upper echelons of the Rankings with a tied fifth finish at the lucrative Foshan Open which he led after Day One as he posted a tournament record – and a personal best – nine under par 63.

The youngest graduate in the Class of 2018, Singh Brar, a former Walker Cup player, is one to watch as the 2019 Race to Dubai heats up in the new year.
