Following a trying time on and off the golf course, David Law secured a debut season on the European Tour after a very successful 2018 campaign.

The 27 year old was one of four Scots to secure a card for Europe’s top tier by finishing in the top 15 of the European Challenge Tour’s Road to Ras Al Khaimah, alongside Grant Forrest, Liam Johnston and Robert MacIntyre.

But while Johnston and MacIntyre achieved European Tour status in their first year as professionals, it has been a longer road to the promised land for Law.

After a stellar amateur career in which he won the Scottish Boys and Scottish Amateur Championships, Law joined the paid ranks in 2013.

His first full season on the Challenge Tour yielded a finish of 60th place in the Rankings; his best ending until the current promotion-winning year.

After no top ten in two years, and on his 100thChallenge Tour start, Law showed trued grit in the Scottish Highlands, turning a first-round lead into a first Challenge Tour title at the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge presented by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.

Following a further two top tens, including a runner-up finish in Austria, Law held on to seal 14thplace in the Rankings.

Mentored by former Open Champion Paul Lawrie, keep an eye on the Scot in 2019.
