Porsche European Open - Day three digest

Everything you need to know from Moving Day at Green Eagle Golf Courses.

Six players climbed to the top of a congested leaderboard, while Siem continued to impress his home crowd on day three of the 2023 Porsche European Open.

Here is everything you need to know from Moving Day at Green Eagle Golf Courses.

Law almost lands eagle from long range

David Law found the green in two at the par-five fourth but left himself a long way from the flag. That didn't prove to be a problem, though, as he sent his 78-foot eagle putt cruising towards the cup and very nearly holed it, before settling for a tap-in birdie instead.

Guerrier's birdie blitz

Julien Guerrier began the day six shots off the lead but stormed into contention after recovering from a bogey on the sixth with five birdies over the next six holes. The Frenchman dropped another shot on the 13th but closed his round with gains at the 15th, 16th and 18th to head into the final round in a six-way share of the lead alongside Law, Jordan Smith, Tom McKibbin, John Axelsen and Alexander Björk on six under par. Guerrier, who also led after three rounds at last month's DS Automobiles Italian Open, is searching for his maiden DP World Tour title.

McKibbin's roller-coaster front nine

The front nine was a wild ride for European Challenge Tour graduate McKibbin on Saturday. After joining the lead with a nine-foot birdie on the first, he bounced straight back from a bogey on the third with a birdie at the next. The Northern Irishman did well to drop just one shot at the par-three fifth, holing his bogey putt from 13 feet, before saving par from seven feet on the sixth. McKibbin then holed from 20 feet for a birdie at the seventh and saved par once again on the eighth before bogeying the ninth. A much more consistent back nine - which featured eight pars before a birdie at the last - saw him sign for a 72 and share the lead.

Siem sends his home crowd wild

Home favourite Marcel Siem received a big roar from the huge crowds following him as he holed this 30-foot birdie putt at the 14th...

Waring makes miracle birdie at the 15th

When Paul Waring sent his 31-foot eagle putt almost 40 feet past the hole on the par-five 15th green, it looked like his chances of making a birdie had vanished. But he drained the return putt to walk away from there with a four. Well done, Paul.
