Lukas Nemecz enjoyed an impressive season on the European Challenge Tour to finish in tenth position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, subsequently earning DP World Tour playing rights for the 2022 season.
The Austrian made 16 cuts from 20 starts, including three second place finishes and one further top ten but is still in search of his first piece of European silverware.
Nemecz has had his chances to win this season, most notably he held a four stroke lead heading into the final round of the Hopps Open de Provence but mistakes on the back nine meant the Austrian entered a play-off where Englishman Alfie Plant eventually prevailed.
The 32-year-old secured the final DP World Tour card at the 2015 Qualifying School but was unable to make an impression during his debut season – finishing in 180th position on the DP World Tour Rankings in partnership with Rolex, but Nemecz will feel better equipped to tackle the top tier this time around after a full season’s preparation on the Challenge Tour.
