Play finally got underway at The Belfry after this morning’s fog delay kept players off the course until 10.45am.
Thick fog shrouded the Brabazon Course and it took three hours 15 minutes to lift, delaying the start of the second round accordingly. As a result the second round will now run into Saturday with the third round being played as three balls with a two tee start in an attempt to catch up.
Marcus Fraser and Mikael Lundberg head the field at five under par after opening rounds of 67 while defending champion Lee Westwood is in the group one behind after an opening 68.
