Play-off drama in Sweden

Victor Dubuisson, Stephen Gallacher and Thongchai Jaidee will contest a play-off for the Nordea Masters after a dramatic final round in Malmö.

Victor Dubuisson

All three finished on 16 under par at PGA Sweden National, where a host of players – including World Number Two Henrik Stenson – saw their chances of victory come and go.

Jaidee’s 65 saw him set the clubhouse mar, and the Thai then had to wait as the last four groups made their way down the par five last.

France’s Dubuisson would have won with a birdie there, but three-putted from just off the green.

Gallacher’s chance looked to have gone when he bogeyed the 17th from a greenside bunker, but he bravely converted from 20 feet at the next.

Stenson, playing in the final group with Eddie Pepperell, needed an eagle to win his national title outright, but pushed his second into trouble right of the green and eventually bogeyed.

Pepperell went in water at the last and also ran up a six, when he needed a three to force his way into extra holes.

Play-off records:

Jaidee – P1, W1
Dubuisson – first stroke play play-off (lost in Accenture in extra holes)
Gallacher – P2, W1, L1
