Home favourites Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and Branden Grace will contest a play-off for the Volvo Golf Champions after a thrilling final round in South Africa.
Els shot a joint best-of-the-day 67 to set the clubhouse target, having eagled the 13th and then almost chipping in for another at the last.
Goosen matched that when he also eagled the 13th and birdied three of the last four for a 70.
Grace, who qualified for the winners-only event by lifting last week's Joburg Open, then had a chance from under five feet to win on the final green, but missed it.
Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts was also tied for the lead with one to play, but hit a wild drive and with a bogey six slipped to fourth.
Jose Maria Olazábal had shared top spot after two opening bogeys, but fell back to sixth - one behind Charl Schwartzel - and with Louis Oosthuizen tied seventh and Padraig Harrington and Paul Lawrie tied for tenth there were seven Major Champions in the top ten.
