Play-off drama at Augusta National

Angel Cabrera and Adam Scott both birdied the 18th in dramatic circumstances as the 77th Masters Tournament went to a play-off at Augusta National.

Scott thought he had won his first Major title, and become the first Australian to claim a Green Jacket, when he birdied the 18th to card a 69 and nine under par total.

But after watching Scott celebrate wildly after holing a 20 footer from back on the fairway, 2009 champion Cabrera promptly fired his approach to three feet for a birdie of his own to force extra holes.

Australian Jason Day had led by two with three to play but bogeyed the 16th and 17th to finish third on seven under, with Tiger Woods, penalised two shots for an incorrect drop in Friday's second round, two further back after a closing 70.
