The partnership, which extends Pilsner Urquell’s association with golf, will give the beer producer an active presence at the tournament, including a beer academy showcasing the skills of their Masters Bartenders and live music in the Pilsner Urquell tent.

Grant McKenzie, the Marketing Director of Pilsner Urquell, said: “Pilsner Urquell has been a partner of golf in the Czech Republic for a long time and we have also been the partner of the Open Championship for the last few years.

“We seek to strengthen the connection between the finest beer and the finest tournaments. We use these prestigious events to bring the unique taste of Pilsner Urquell alive to the discerning local and international audience. We have a unique opportunity to demonstrate the art of the master bartender in delivering the perfect Pilsner Urquell. We are excited that we can support the programme of bringing famous players to the Czech Republic, which we are sure will attract good crowds who will enjoy golf and, of course, beer of the highest quality.”

The D+D REAL Czech Masters has also added DB Schenker, one of the leading providers of integrated logistics and global forwarding services, to its family of sponsors, while the BRUDRA Corporation has created an official collection of clothing, which will be sold in the Albatross Tented Village.

Tomas Holomoucky, Director of DB Schenker, said: “We have decided to support this tournament because we see the Czech Masters as being the biggest local golf event, which, moreover, is about to take place near the headquarters of our company  in Rudna u Prahy. It has been one of our long term goals to support sports events, including the logistical backup of tournaments.”

The tournament is also proving popular with spectators following the launch of a ticket pre-sale in December by promoter RELMOST.

Petr Dedek, Chairman of the Board of RELMOST, said: “We have already sold nearly 3500 tickets. We scheduled the lowest price offer for the four-day package (400czk) which was valid till the end of last year. Tickets were sold mostly as Christmas presents. At the moment the permanent pass is available at 600czk and the price is to go up to 800czk in April.”

Separate tickets for the first two rounds are now available for 150czk, weekend entry costs 300czk per day. All tickets are available on thewww.ticketpro.czportal.

Meanwhile, preparations are progressing well at the Albatross Golf Resort, with several changes made to the course six months before the tournament.

Stanislav Lisner, General Manager of the Albatross Golf Resort, said: “The drainage systems have been enhanced to avoid issues in cases of bad weather.  The golf course is now able to be used even after two or three days of rain. There will no longer be water retained on the fairways.

“We have adjusted the shapes of the fairways, too.  They have mostly been narrowed towards the green, and the bunkers have been brought closer.  The seventh hole has undergone the most noticeable transformation. The bunkers have been widened towards the green and the overall area of the hazards has been enlarged. At first we contemplated enlarging the area of the water hazard but it finally stays untouched for now.  The Clubhouse is being smartened up over the winter- we are installing new furniture and laying new flooring within the premises of the entire venue.”
