PGA professional Daniel Whitby-Smith will realise his lifelong ambition of playing on the DP World Tour at this week's Betfred British Masters hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.
Drayton Park Golf Club’s Head Professional Whitby-Smith secured his spot in the field at the Belfry last month through the PGA Play-Offs at Aphrodite Hills Resort (PGA National Cyprus).
A final round score of 65 saw him finish runner-up across the three-day event and play his way into the field for both the Betfred British Masters and ISPS HANDA World Invitational in Northern Ireland in August.
Wishing the best of luck to PGA Professional, @dwhitbysmith, as he prepares to tee it up at this week’s @DPWorldTour @British_Masters at @TheBelfryHotel!

On a day-to-day basis, Whitby-Smith normally teaches, fits clubs and runs the club shop at Drayton Park - just a ten-minute drive from the Belfry - but this week he is looking forward to sharing the fairways with a host of household names from the game, including Major champion Justin Rose.
“When I was a boy, I wanted to become a DP World Tour player, so I am really living the dream,” he told the DP World Tour.
Having shared the same stage as fellow teaching professional Michael Block at last year's PGA Cup, he will hope he can enjoy a measure of the impact the American made at last month's US PGA Championship.
