Adrian Otaegui made a blistering start to surge into a share of the lead on day two of the Turkish Airlines Open.
Glorious conditions once again greeted the players in the first event of the Final Series at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort and birdies were the order of the day for most of the field.
Otaegui was the man to really take advantage, making six birdies in his opening nine holes to get to seven under and join Thorbjørn Olesen at the top of the leaderboard.
George Coetzee, Jorge Campillo and Pablo Larrazábal were then a shot back.
Coetzee had come into day two with a one-shot lead but he made a bogey on the third after a poor tee-shot and Olesen and Otaegui made their moves.
The Spaniard began his round on the 11th and flew out of the blocks, making birdies on his first five holes before adding another on the 18th to surge through the field.
Dane Olesen began the day a shot behind Coetzee and birdied the first in the final group to get into a share of the lead as he rediscovered his form after making three of his last 12 cuts.
Campillo birdied the third to get to six under while fellow Spaniard Larrazábal had gains on the second and fifth in is first five holes.
David Drysdale, David Horsey, Thongchai Jaidee, Joakim Lagergren, Matteo Manassero, James Morrison and Justin Walters were then a further shot back.
