Open de Portugal at Morgado Golf Resort day two - What they said

Matt Wallace held a commanding lead when darkness put a stop to play on day two of the weather-affected Open de Portugal at Morgado Golf Resort.

Here, we take a look at what some of the players in the chasing pack had to say after their second rounds.

Ashley Chesters (71, -9)

"The best moment out there this afternoon was probably the eagle on the 13th. I holed quite a long one - maybe 30 or 40 feet - and I was feeling a bit low on energy then so it was nice to roll that one in. I played pretty well for the three holes yesterday and the almost two full rounds today, so I’m quite pleased. I’m definitely happy with nine under after two rounds. I putted very well this morning and then overall I probably played a bit better this afternoon but didn’t hole nearly as many putts."

José-Filipe Lima (71, -8)

"I'm playing very well. I made one mistake with the double bogey on hole 14 but my game is very good and I’m feeling confident. I've played 29 holes today and I’m a bit tired so I’m looking forward to getting back to the hotel for a rest. I'm going to have patience again tomorrow. Playing over the weekend is the most important part of the week. This is the first time I have played in a tournament accompanied by my family. It’s been good to bring my little daughter to her homeland. It's important for me that we're together."

Matthieu Pavon (69, -9)

"I had a bit of momentum this afternoon. I played very solid to finish round one this morning, which gave me confidence going into round two straight afterwards and I managed to make a few birdies straight away. My game has been a little up and down over the two days but my short game has been pretty good, so that has helped a lot."
