Per-Ulrik Johansson, Tom Gillis, Jean Van de Velde and amateur Luke Donald finished as the top qualifiers at each of the four qualifying courses to earn their places at the 128th Open Championship which starts at Carnoustie on Thursday.
They were among 49 players who successfully made it through the qualifying process to join more than 100 players already exempt.
Johnasson kept up the momentum at Montrose Links, adding a 69 to his first-round 63 to win by a shot from England’s Andrew Sherborne and France's Fabrice Tarnaud.
"The gallery was even bigger today than it was on Sunday," Johansson said. "There must have been 500-plus out there with us. It felt a little awkward today after the 63 yesterday. I tried to play as well as I could, but the motivation just didn't seem to be there.
"It really doesn't matter if you're No. 1 qualifier, only that you qualify. I'm looking forward to it, though -- I'd love to improve on my best Open finish, which was 15th at St . Andrews in 1995."
Frenchamn Jean Van de Velde was in superb form at Monifieth as he compiled his second successive 67 to win by a shot from Christopher Hanell, of Sweden, and American Len Mattice.
"I am happy," Van de Velde said. "I played well, but there is an awful long way to go yet. The pins were a lot more difficult today and harder to go for.
"Still, I have to say I'm pleased with my game. I think I did pretty well to get to the 17th before I had a bogey. I'm going to Carnoustie in good heart." Van de Velde had five birdies -- they won't be as easy to come when the action starts in earnest.
American Gillis, who won the last card for the 1999 European Tour by finishing 116th in the Volvo Order of Merit shot rounds of 67, 68 at Downfield to finish two clear of Denmark’s Anders Hansen. Other qualifiers included Warren Bennett, winner of the 1998 Challenge Tour Rankings, and Qatar Masters champion Paul Lawrie.
At Panmure Luke Donald, the amateur from Beaconsfield shot a second round of 65 to finish a shot clear of New Zealand’s Michael Campbell and Mark Allen from Australia. Andrew Raitt, Santiago Luna, Ross Mcfarlane and Paul McGinley also made it through but only after a tense play-off.
