On the tee: Russian Open (Senior) draw revealed

This year's is the second Senior Tour tournament to be staged in Russia

Welshman Ian Woosnam will begin his bid for a Russian double alongside Andrew Oldcorn and Massy Kuramoto when the Russian Open Golf Championship (Senior) gets underway in Moscow on Friday.

Woosnam, who prevailed at theRussian Senior Open at Pestovo Golf and Yacht Club the last time the European Senior Tour was in Russia in 2008, will tee off at midday local time at Moscow Country Club with one of the circuit’s current form-dogs in Oldcorn.

The Scot fired an astonishing 11 birdies en route to a sublime 61 during the final round of theWINSTONgolf Senior Openin Germany last week, where he finished runner-up to compatriot Gordon Brand Jnr, a round he hailed as the finest in his career.

That high quality high-noon threeball is completed by Japan’s Kuramoto, a two-time winner on the Senior Tour.

Elsewhere, rookie Colin Montgomerie,who won his maiden Senior Tour title in dominant fashion at the Travis Perkins plc Senior Masters two weeks ago in just his third appearance, takes to the Robert Trent Jones Jnr layout at 1030 on Friday with 2012 Rookie of the Year Paul Wesselingh and last week’s champion Brand Jnr.

Senior Tour stalwarts Barry Lane and Carl Mason will tee it up at 1100, meanwhile, as the fellow countrymen are joined by New Zealand’s Greg Turner, while 2011 Senior Tour Number One Peter Fowler will play the first round alongside former Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance and three-time winner Gary Wolstenholme at 1230.
