On the tee: Farmfoods European Senior Masters

The Farmfoods European Senior Masters hosted by Peter Baker begins on Friday October 3 at Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club and with a host of household names set to tee it up, we have picked out some of the key tee times.

The tournament will be played under the popular alliance format, where each professional gets paired with an amateur during the first two days of the tournament and their scores count towards a combined team total.

Kicking off the action at 9.30am from the first tee will be Englishman Steven Richardson and Qualifying School graduate Dan Olsen and they will be followed by Olsen’s fellow graduate Stuart Little and countryman Malcolm MacKenzie ten minutes later.

Last week’s Murhof Legends – Austrian Senior Open champion José Coceres, who also won the Swiss Seniors Open, will play alongside Chris Williams at 9.40am from the tenth tee, with Clark Dennis and Gary Evans starting on the same hole at 10.50am.

Philip Walton, who has previously tasted success at Forest of Arden when he won the Murphy’s English Open in 1995, will tee off alongside Philip Golding at 10.20am.

The only other two-time winner this season David Shacklady will go in search of a third victory of the year when gets his tournament under way at 10.40am alongside Spaniard Miguel Angel Martin before tournament host Peter Baker and good friend Ian Woosnam tee it up together at 10.50am.

Defending champion Santiago Luna and Jean-François Remesy, who won the Farmfoods European Legends Links Championship hosted by Ian Woosnam earlier this year, begin their quest at 11.10am, while Stephen Dodd and Paul Streeter start at 11.30am.

Senior Major winner Paul Broadhurst and 1993 Ryder Cup player Joakim Haeggman will tee off the tenth tee at 11.10am, before Peter Fowler and Order of Merit leader Phillip Price make up the final group from the tenth at 11.30am.
