McIlroy will have defending championSøren KjeldsenandAndy Sullivanfor company over the first two days at the County Kildare venue, in a lively three-ball that's bound to draw big crowds.
Rory will be keen to impress when he gets his challenge under way from the first tee at 13:25, while Sullivan is always a joy to watch with his brand of positive, attacking golf.
Ten minutes after the World Number Three has teed off it will be the turn of Masters ChampionDanny Willettto step onto the first tee, with the Englishman making his first European Tour start since his brilliant victory at Augusta National.
Willett, who leads the Race to Dubai rankings by more than a million points, has been paired withRafa Cabrera Bello, who sits third in the season rankings and finished tied fourth at this event last year, and European Tour legendLee Westwood, for the first two days.
The crowds will also be out in force for the 8.35 tee time, which sees home favouriteShane Lowryhead off from the tenth tee alongsideBernd Wiesbergerand man of the momentJeunghun Wang.
Lowry, who famously won this event seven years ago as a fresh-faced amateur, will get a first-hand look at Wang, the South Korean player who has made a huge impression by winning the last two events on The European Tour.
Another home favourite and man who has tasted victory in his home Open isPadraig Harrington. The popular three-time Major Champion starts his challenge at 08.05 from the tenth tee, alongside enigmatic FrenchmanVictor Dubuissonand England’sRoss Fisher.
Graeme McDowellis also in town, the ten time European Tour winner teeing off at 13.45 from the first with dynamic duoThomas PietersandThorbjørn Olesen.
