Rory McIlroy will begin his search for a first Open de France title this week in the company of home favouriteVictor DubuissonandRafa Cabrera Bello.

The grouping of the four-time Major champion, who finished fourth here in 2010, and Frenchman Dubuisson will be sure to attract a large following around Le Golf National when they tee off at 08:20 on Thursday morning.

Winner here 12 months ago,Bernd Wiesbergerwill launch his defence at 13:10 alongside course record holderMartin Kaymer, who also won here seven years ago, and 2015 Amateur ChampionRomain Langasque.

Masters championDanny Willettis back in action alongside compatriotLee Westwood and they will also be partnered by a French native in the form ofGrégory Bourdy,with the trio starting at 13:20.

Graeme McDowell won this event in back-to-back years from 2013 and the Northern Irishman will go in search of a hat-trick of wins alongsideChris Wood andThomas Bjørnat 13:00.

Elsewhere, 2008 championPablo Larrazábal tees off at 07:50 in a group completed byRaphaël Jacquelinand Francesco Molinari, withAndy Sullivan, Padraig Harringtonand Matt Fitzpatrickalso likely to draw sizable crowds when they begin at 08:10.

Australia’s Dimitrios Papadatos will get the 100th Open de France under way at exactly 07:30 on Thursday morning.
