Thorbjørn Olesen was pleased to take some momentum into the weekend as he played himself right into contention on day two of the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.
The Dane was a winner at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in 2014 at the ISPS HANDA Perth International but a third round of 74 last season meant he did not make the top 24 and qualify for the match play section at the inaugural staging of this event.
That was one of just three missed Sundays in 24 events in 2017 for Olesen, who finished 23rd in the Race to Dubai Rankings presented by Rolex but saw a three-season winning streak broken.
The four-time European Tour winner's fondness for Western Australia would make this the perfect stage for him to get back in the winner's circle, and he has a game-plan for the remaining two days.

"I really, really like this golf course, I think it's really good," he said. "Last year I just had a bad Saturday and I'll try to do that different tomorrow. I'll try to do that better but, obviously, it would be nice to see if you could win the stroke play first and then do well on Sunday.
"I'm going to play a little bit different if I make it to Sunday, that's for sure. Tomorrow is going to be the same as these last two days, the same game-plan as I've had the few years I've been here, so nothing's going to change tomorrow."
Olesen recovered from an opening bogey with six birdies to sign for a 67 on Friday and was delighted with his efforts in tough, blustery conditions.
"It was difficult," he said. "It was quite breezy this morning also at 7.00am. Definitely in the last hour or so it picked up a lot so I'm very happy with my score."
