José Maria Olazábal, Europe’s Captain at The 2012 Ryder Cup, and Colin Montgomerie, who led Europe to Ryder Cup glory last year, will headline the field at the Iberdrola Open at Pula Golf from May 11-15.
The last of two-time Masters Tournament champion Olazábal’s 23 European Tour titles came at the 2005 Mallorca Classic, which was played at Pula Golf, the course he recently re-designed.
Montgomerie, a member of five victorious Ryder Cup teams and an eight-time winner of the money list, holds the record as the most prolific British winner in European Tour history with 31 titles.
The illustrious duo will be joined at Pula Golf by fellow former Ryder Cup players Thomas Björn of Denmark, Ireland’s Darren Clark and Scotland’s Paul Lawrie.
