The Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) will be paused until further notice with professional golf currently inactive due to the threat posed by Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Governing Board of the OWGR has decided that the Ranking will be frozen at Week 11 (the weekend ending March 15 and 16, 2020) and will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19.
An announcement about the resumption of the Ranking will be made in due course.
The International Golf Federation (IGF) supports the immediate freezing of both the men’s and women’s official world rankings. This decision freezes the ranking system for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games until such time as it recommences.
The qualification system for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games commenced on July 1, 2019 and will conclude on June 22, 2020 for men and from July 8, 2018 through June 29, 2020 for women, with players accumulating ranking points over a two-year ‘rolling’ period.
The International Olympic Committee fully supports the decision made by the IGF.
