Noren stays ahead at The Grove

Alex Noren remained at the top of the leaderboard as he reached the turn on the final day of the British Masters supported by Sky Sports.

The Swede started the day three shots ahead of nearest challenger Richard Bland but saw his advantage cut to two after mixing two birdies with a bogey on his front nine on Sunday.

Noren made the perfect start to his fourth round, notching birdies at each of his first two holes to climb to 18 under.

After safely parring his next five holes, Noren dropped his first shot of the day at the eighth after narrowly missing his ten foot par putt.

A par at the ninth followed to see Noren cover his front nine in 34 shots.

Englishmen Bland and Tommy Fleetwood and Austrian Bernd Wiesberger were in a tie for second on 15 under.

Bland, searching for his first European Tour title, made a birdie-birdie start to his round to keep the pressure on playing partner Noren.

The 43 year old carded a bogey at the seventh but bounced back immediately, making a brilliant birdie at the eighth to get within two shots of Noren.

Bland then pulled off a great par save from five feet at the ninth to reach the turn in 33.

Fleetwood took advantage of the long second to make a birdie there for the fourth day in a row.

The Englishman picked up another shot at the eighth before rolling in from ten feet at the tenth to get to 15 under.

Wiesberger, meanwhile, carded four birdies and a single bogey in his first ten holes.

Home favourite Lee Westwood was on his own in fifth on 14 under after 11 holes.
