Renato Paratore and Max Orrin both shot rounds of 68 to share a one-shot lead heading into day two of the Nordea Masters.
Here, we take a look at what some of the chasing pack had to say after their opening rounds.
Jamie Donaldson (69, -4)
"It was cold early doors and blowing so I was happy with a 69 in the end. You've just got to try to control your golf ball out there. It was difficult, there were a lot of cross winds. You had to take advantage of holes playing downwind. It was just quite tricky. The emphasis was on controlling the spin on your ball. Overall I'm happy with that. I've been playing okay recently but I just haven't been getting much out of my rounds even when I've been playing nicely. I've had a few injuries but I'm happy with how I'm feeling now and how I'm playing."
Bradley Dredge (69, -4)
"I'm delighted with that. It was a bit cold and breezy this morning. We started on the back nine which is a bit exposed but coming into the trees on the front nine it was starting to warm up a bit and it turned into a nice day. My golf matched it for most of the round so, yes, very pleased. I was playing well all day but wasn't quite getting it close to the hole to make some putts but I managed to get a few a bit closer towards the end and knock a few in."
Eddie Pepperell (70, -3)
"It was my first look at the golf course today, so I'm very happy with that round. It was tough, and it's a really nice golf course actually. I had heard good things about it so, yes, I loved playing it. I was playing well for the first six holes but just couldn't hole a putt. It was the story of my last few events really. My caddie just told me to stay patient, which I did, then holed a nice one on the seventh to make birdie. I played well for the most part. There was always going to be a bit of uncertainty with the initial part of the round today but I got in there and carried on hitting good shots. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week."
Benjamin Hebert (70, -3)
"I'm happy with that. It wasn't easy this morning. It was quite windy and cold at the start, but the course is in good condition. So I'm happy, it was a good start. My driving was very solid. It's important to reach the fairways because the rough is quite hard this week. The greens are small so it's very important to be on the fairway to reach the green, and I hit a lot of fairways today."
Li Haotong (70, -3)
"I am very happy and actually I got lucky because with the afternoon tee times we had a little bit less wind after the front nine. So it was a pretty good day for me, a good round. The short game was good. I played a lot of good shots today and a lot of very good putts. I had a birdie putt on the last that didn't come off but I'm very happy to get to three under. It's a tough course so I just need to stay patient and hopefully play well over the weekend."
Henrik Stenson (73, level par)
"I don't think it was too bad. It was tricky in the morning, it was cold and windy. Now we're back in t-shirts but I had four layers on this morning during the warm up and the first couple of holes. The weather and the temperature was improving throughout the day. Game-wise it was okay. Nothing too great and nothing too bad. I kept it somewhat tidy. There were a couple of dropped shots and a couple of birdies, so level par, I don't know what more to say about it."
