Nicolai Højgaard is confident he can claim his third DP World Tour win on Sunday if he can get to grips with the greens at Albatross Golf Resort.
The Dane left a six-footer that would have put him in a share of the lead on the last short, meaning he will go into the final round of the D+D Real Czech Masters one behind Sami Välimäki and Matt Wallace at 15 under.
And after carding rounds of 65-67-69 in Prague, the Ryder Cup hopeful feels he knows where the event will be won and lost.
"I feel like we’re in a good place," he said. "My game is trending. We’re doing the right things on the course. We just need to hole a few on the greens, that’s the difference. Then we’ll be fine.
"I can’t be too negative about being in this position but obviously I want more. The game is there. We still have a good chance tomorrow.
"We know the greens are quite slow, you just need to adapt to it. I’ve done the same thing the first three days now, leaving them short all the time.
"What happened on 18 describes it pretty well. Hit quality shots, then leave a two-metre putt short, you never do that. But there’s a lot of good stuff and there’s still a good chance tomorrow."
Højgaard had a roller coaster start to his round with two birdies and two bogeys in his first four holes before he took advantage of the short par-four sixth.
He then hit a contender for shot of the day on the next when he put his tee-shot inside three feet, seeing the ball stop agonisingly short of an ace while bang on line.
"I knew it was a stretch with a seven iron but I hit a really good shot," he said. "As soon as it landed I thought ‘please drop’. But I said I didn’t care, I just needed that birdie."
