Live music, bars, street food vendors and fun golf challenges will all feature on site this year, as the Portugal Masters promises an exciting day out for all spectators.
The European Tour’s Championship Director of the Portugal Masters Peter Adams said: “The Portugal Masters really is an all-in-one experience for people of all ages. We have worked closely with the venue and local suppliers to ensure that this year’s tournament will be a feast of golf and entertainment.
“There will be local street food vendors in the Championship Village and three bars located on the course, giving spectators a place to relax and fans can watch the golf on big screens while they relax with a drink, ensuring they miss none of the action on the golf course.
“In the Championship Village there will be a number of golf-related challenges, with prizes awarded to competitors with the best scores. It promises to be a fantastic week.”
Located in the Championship Village, Benny & Romeu’s Bar will serve Portuguese food and drink, while the team from O’Neill’s at Vilamoura Marina are setting up a bar on the par three 13th hole. The Golfbreaks Bar on the 18th green offers the perfect setting for spectators, with a terrace overlooking the final hole at Dom Pedro Victoria. There will be street food stalls located in the tournament village offering authentic Portuguese cuisine.
At the weekend, the Golfbreaks Bar will host the All Stars Band who will play modern and classic hits after the final putt drops on Saturday and the champion is crowned on Sunday.
The Callaway Shootout will give spectators the chance to win a Callaway Epic Flash Driver and a set of Mack Daddy 4 wedges in Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin competitions. Scores from these will be combined and entered into the leaderboard with a chance to win these fantastic prizes at the end of the week. Colourpath will also bring their putting challenge to Dom Pedro Victoria with a ‘Beat the Pro’ competition.
A strong field is set to tee it up at this year’s Portugal Masters, with defending champion Tom Lewis joined by history-maker Oliver Fisher, who carded the European Tour’s first 59 at Dom Pedro Victoria last year, and former World Number Ones Martin Kaymer and Lee Westwood.
