Mauritius-bound Colin Montgomerie has made a move on the PGA TOUR Champions circuit after his second-place finish at the PowerShares QQQ Championship at Thousand Oaks, California.
The reigning John Jacobs Trophy holder has moved up to second in the Charles Schwab Cup Standings, but is just over a million points behind fellow former Ryder Cup Captain Bernhard Langer.
Montgomerie carded rounds of 65-69-70 to finish 12 under par, one shot behind American Tom Pernice Jr.
Joining Langer and Montgomerie in the World Golf Hall of Fame next year, Ian Woosnam finished fifth as he carded an eight under par total.
