Molinari races clear

Francesco Molinari was compiling a magnificent final round at the Reale Seguros Open de España as the Italian closed in on a third European Tour title.

The 29 year old Ryder Cup star started the day four behind Simon Dyson, but with four holes of his final round remaining at Reale Club de Golfe de Sevilla Molinari had established a four shot advantage.

He turned in a magnificent 32, holed from ten feet at the tenth and had back-to-back gains at the 13th and 14th to be seven under for the day and eight under for the week.

England’s Dyson made a flying start, sinking an 18 foot putt on the first and then chipping in a bunker shot for another birdie at the next.

But he was twice in deep rough at the long fifth and ran up a bogey six to fall back alongside Søren Kjeldsen, who had birdied the first and fifth at the scene of his 2009 Open de Andalucía win and where he holds the course record with 62.

At that stage they were two in front of Molinari and Spaniards Pablo Larrazábal and Jorge Campillo, but while Molinari continued his birdie blitz both Dyson and Kjeldsen three-putted the short seventh.

Dyson then had his third bogey in four holes on the next, missing the green and failing to hole from eight feet.

That meant Kjeldsen, Dyson and Larrazábal were all tied for second on four under, and all had six holes remaining.
