If there was one player destined to become the ambassador of the Omega European Masters, it could only be him.
For his 34th appearance, charismatic Spaniard Miguel Ángel Jiménez takes on the role of tournament ambassador and, at the same time, the role of OMEGA brand ambassador.
Having grown with the event and knowing all its intricacies, he will undoubtedly take his role to heart.
What longevity records for this player, whose personality is inseparable from the world of golf. To name just a few: he has participated in over 720 tournaments on the DP World Tour, winning 21 titles, with 13 wins on the PGA TOUR Champions.
Last May, he achieved his 15th hole-in-one in competition, and he is also the oldest European player to have won a DP World Tour event at the age of 50 years and 133 days (the 2014 Open de España).
Time seems to have little effect on the 60-year-old, who is already looking forward to competing against the young guns of the circuit from September 5 to 8.
The Omega European Masters holds a special place in Jiménez's heart. A winner in 2010, he will return to the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club with memories both on and off the Severiano Ballesteros course.
He said: "This is my favourite place to play golf, and I love coming back here every year. Just look around to understand what I love about this place.
"I don't know how many years I have left but as long as I feel capable of making birdies, you will find me at the Omega European Masters."
